Privacy Policy

How DiffCheck handles your data — and why we barely handle any.

Overview

DiffCheck.org is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we use it.

The short version: All comparisons and tool operations run entirely in your browser. Your text, code, JSON, files, and any other content you paste into DiffCheck never leave your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your input data to any server.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Text or code you paste into any tool
  • Files you upload for comparison
  • JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, or any other structured data you input
  • Passwords generated by the Password Generator
  • JWTs, tokens, or secrets entered into any decoder/generator
  • Any other content processed by our tools

All tool processing happens client-side in your browser using JavaScript. No content is sent to our servers at any point.

Data We Do Collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics, including page views, browser type, operating system, and general geographic region (country level). This data helps us understand which tools are most useful and improve the site. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Browser Extension

The DiffCheck browser extension operates with the same privacy-first principle. It does not collect, read, or transmit any webpage content or user data. The extension only displays the DiffCheck tool panel in the browser sidebar — all processing remains local to your device.

Cookies

DiffCheck uses minimal cookies for theme preference (light/dark mode) and locale selection. These are stored locally in your browser and are not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics — anonymous page view and usage statistics
  • Cloudflare Pages — website hosting and delivery

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share any user data with any other third parties.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page. The current version of this policy is always available at https://diffcheck.org/en/privacy.
